Don't let clever ads spend your money

Marketing is everywhere. Televisions, radios, bill boards, social media etc. Some marketing techniques I know are discounts, free samples, limited time offers and so on. Marketers use these methods and techniques to make one feel interested in a product even if you tell them you don't need it, they'll be telling you different sweet things you can get when you use that particular product.

DOES MARKETING MANIPULATE PEOPLE?

The answer is yes to an extent it does. Marketing has influence me more times than I can count, I have bought a lot of things that I either ended up not using it later realize it was a waste of money. Even when it comes to buying foodstuffs aside products I've been manipulated even by market women who don't really know much about marketing. But when we look at it these market women are even more skillful than some marketers we see on screens and social media.

I also have a friend who bought an air pod because of how it looked on the screen, she ended up regretting it and sold it the very next day after it was delivered to her, she ended up selling it at cheaper price, something she didn't use for a full day, that is one of the perks of being influenced by marketing.

I think we can avoid being easily influenced by slowing down before buying anything. We should ask ourselves if we truly need it, compare prices, read honest reviews, and avoid buying because of pressure or excitement. We should also remember that advertisements are made to sell, not necessarily to tell us the whole truth.

Marketing is not always bad, but we need to be careful. Our money is hard-earned, so we should spend it wisely instead of allowing clever advertising to make every decision for us.
