Hello #qccommunity friends, I trust you are doing great. Welcome to my blog. The recent August 2026 glacial collapse and landslide in Nepal nearly brought the world to its knees. This climate change led to the massive destruction of property and the loss of lives.

Findings revealed that heavy flooding triggered the glacial collapse, resulting in accelerated melting of the ice and causing a massive landslide that left many either missing or dead. This is another chaotic moment after the recent earthquake in Venezuela that left many families broken.
The norm is that each time this happens, politicians will use it as an avenue to bicker and throw tantrums at each other. They would also make emotional statements to show support as the public outcry and callouts intensify. Immediately, the public outcry dilutes; they go back to their shelves.
Now the question is, for how long should we continue to be on the receiving end? For me, our political leaders and government should establish regulatory bodies that will monitor and mitigate climate change. This can be done by placing equipment in strategic locations to detect these challenges and give signals or warnings for evacuation before they strike.
Society and citizens need political leaders to go beyond promises, show serious commitment and accountability in such situations, partner with volunteer teams, and establish strong bodies that will work diligently to mitigate climate change. For example, in my country of origin, we have the National Adaptation Plan and the National Council on Climate Change, among others. They work with the federal ministry of environment to combat climate challenges while enacting policies to strategically tackle such issues in my country.
The 2030 prediction of water scarcity is another global warning. However, prevention is better than cure. Therefore, preparations should be in top gear to contain the challenge or even overcome it. Establishing projections that will counter such occurrences will go a long way and should be taken seriously.
Finally, on climate change, all hands must be on deck to achieve success. While the political leaders and government do their bit, citizens should reciprocate by sharing information about any warning signal sighted at any point to salvage the situation before it escalates. Where there is a will, there is always a way. A world with well-managed climate change escalation and containment is possible. Let's make this world a better place.
