Match 19 - Venezuela 3-0 Jamaica
In a match of the already qualified against the already eliminated there was no slackening off by Venezuela, no relaxing to save themselves for the quarter-finals. WIth a better use of their periods of possession they scored three goals from their 17 shots, while limiting Jamaica to only 8 shots. They will expect to be as dominant against Canada in their next match.
Match 20 - Mexico 0-0 Ecuador
Being level on points meant Ecuador had the advantage due to a superior goal difference, and Mexico would have to win to progress. They tried their hardest. With 60% of the possession, and nineteen shots they tried. But the reality of the match, of their tournament, is they have not carried a real threat in front of goal. The only one they have scored was a wonder strike in the first game against Jamaica.
Ecuador progress to face champions and favourites, Argentina.
