The Series Are Set

With a six to two win in game three last night, the Braves had eliminated the Phillies and moved on to the NLDS. They now need to gear up for the Dodgers which is going to be a tough road for them if they want to make their way to the World Series.

Meanwhile the other teams will start battling it out as well tomorrow. It really feels like whoever makes their way out of the National League is going to have a lock on this, but you never know. If I focus on any games this weekend, it will be those two National League Series between the Dodgers/Braves and Brewers/Padres.

More importantly though, college football continues on Saturday and when I am not outside doing chores or off playing disc golf with my buddy, I will likely be in front of the TV watching some of those games.

If I had to pick a few to highlight, the first one would be Michigan State vs. Wisconsin at 12:30 PM on Saturday. While it isn't a ranked matchup, The Spartans are my team, so I need to support them even if it is a "building year" and I don't expect too much from them this season.

Just finishing with a winning record would be pretty cool with me.

If you are looking for some key ranked games to focus in on, my first suggestion would be number 7 Alabama vs. number 16 Mississippi State at Mississippi State. That could be a good game an though Vegas gives Bama the advantage, you just never know.

Next up, we have number 8 Florida vs. number 25 Missouri. I expect Florida should dominate this game, but again, you never know. They are only giving Florida 5 points in this game which I think is going to end up being way off, but we will see.

Number 14 Iowa played stunner to a Michigan team that was expected to win a week ago, so let's see how they do when number 5 Ohio State comes to town. The experts seem to think OSU will roll over the Hawkeyes in this game, but I think it will be worth it to watch and see if that actually happens.

As far as ranked matchups go, that's about all we have for this week. There will likely be some good non-ranked games, and it will be interesting to see if any underdog teams are able to play spoiler this weekend. I expect there will be at least one.

Meanwhile, the Radford softball team is also back in action this weekend with a game against Virginia Tech at Virginia Tech. I look forward to hearing about how much time my niece gets on the field and how she does at the plate.
