If stress had a voice, it would probably whisper or scream, "let me out, let me be, I've long dwelled in here." Yes, such could be the echoes of stress if it had a voice; to let it be heard and express its emotions, because stress might be stressed of living inside so many. It would probably be wanting a door of escape too, to live without any confines. Well, so I imagine the stress ordeal to be, from that perspective.
However, it doesn't have a voice to speak, but it's one that presents itself in our actions, emotions, thoughts, responses and a whole lot of human reactions. It could be a reaction than an action thing sometimes; where the individual tried to hold it in but then is pushed by some form of external forces to react and express it. Other times, it purely shows in our actions and the way we just do things without any external intervention or push.
Stress manifests in different cases; when things planned don't work out, when a matter lingers over a long time, when one is pressured to go beyond a limit, when things seem to just be falling apart, when one tries to put things in order but doesn't seem to work out, and a stress at work thing—maybe being constantly criticised, shouted at, the extra work—and a lot more. One thing for sure is that stress tends to set in, even if not immediately. I guess it's sometimes a matter of time.
What we do then when this stress ordeal shows up or tends to that matters most. How does one handle it, and keeps his or herself in check amidst the screams of whispers of stress? That's the big deal. One thing for sure is that by reason of our activities, work, emotions we would be stressed for some reasons. Putting it in place then is what matters. I've had my pieces of this.
When stress seems to come around or set in, I tend to find myself engaged in some long thoughts, possible moving up and down to address the issue. Especially when this has to do with solving an issue or proffering the best possible action towards a course, you could find me doing me so. I've done my best through time to not let the stress thing overwhelm, but then, there are moments that it just tends to want to do more than one's own defensive efforts.
Other times, when it involves such metal efforts above or just some physical efforts, a nap tends to set in. Trying to solve a matter or fix something or carry out a task that seems overwhelming, and it seems to be heading nowhere in good results but rather towards the path of stress, a good nap helps the ordeal. And when awakened, there's this refreshing feel and mind to approach it again. Most times, it comes out to fruition. That has turned out a good strategy for me through time. All in an effort to not let stress have the better chance of becoming overwhelming.
Stress will always show up it's head—either in whispers or screams—but what we do to protect our mind and body from such pressures would be what matters most. Through time, I've learned to not become unnecessarily overwhelmed. Worrying less can be a good way too, yes, that I can tell. Nevertheless, stress could show up, wanting to, and might possibly overwhelm us at times. It's a constant fight then I guess, for one's health and sanity.
This is my entry for the Healthy Bees weekly prompt 13.
Stress is unavoidable in most situations no matter how we try to but being able to control your emotions when you are stressed is an amazing task and feet.
If stress had a voice then truly it would have disturbed us for freedom from it's cage
Thank you for sharing with us @daverick
I agree with you sir. We just have to find a way to curb or control it when it comes.
Thank you @samarijr0.
Stress would want to create an unnecessary problem that makes one overwhelmed. That's why we must make sure to reduce it for sanity sake.
Yes, that's it. We don't have to let it overwhelm us by all means possible.
