How about the president of China, I feel that Trump needs to reach a sort of middle ground with him, because I think the Chinese don't mind burning it all down especially if it'll affect the US economy

I'm not sure China can afford burning all bridges with the US on the trade side. They are their biggest trade partner, and their internal market isn't so big nor they could find easily other markets big enough to replace it. The US can't afford a trade war with China either, in my opinion. So, they'll come to terms, eventually.
