The unique beauty of Kachuripana: A neglected beauty of nature

It is as if nature has decorated the water bodies of Bengal with its own hands. Seeing the purple flowers blooming on the green leaf bed around it, anyone's heart is filled with joy. However, these flowers are known to us as Kachuripana flowers. Many people consider them to be weeds or nuisances and neglect them. But if you look closely, you can find a great fascination and beauty hidden in them.

The presence of Kachuripana in rivers, canals, beels or ponds is a very common sight in our rural towns. When Kachuripana flowers bloom in the muddy water of the monsoon or in the sweet sun of autumn, the surrounding environment completely changes. A royal purple color appears across the water. Especially when the soft morning light falls on these flowers, their appearance increases many times over. The yellow spots and the perfect craftsmanship of purple color between the soft petals are a wonderful creation of nature.

Away from the mechanical hustle and bustle of the city and close to rural nature, this scene calms anyone, even for a moment. Kachuripana is not only beautiful but also closely related to rural biodiversity. It serves as a safe haven for many small fish and aquatic animals. It also has some use in rural agriculture or in making organic fertilizer. However, for many of us, it is only known as a troublesome aquatic plant. Every element of nature has its own function and beauty that we have to realize.

Flowers are always a symbol of love. Be it a luxurious rose in the garden or a Kachuripana flower growing in the neglect of a water body. There is no specific criterion for beauty. If you know how to look with an open mind, it is possible to find the real joy of life even in a small Kachuripana flower. These small beautiful things around us make our lives more meaningful and colorful. Therefore, Kachuripana is not just a plant but it is an integral part of our rural culture and beauty and lives forever in our hearts.
