Reflections of life on a busy afternoon street

After the hustle and bustle of my busy life, I went out in the afternoon to find some relief. Hundreds of life stories seem to be accumulated in every corner of this brick and stone city. When the soft afternoon light falls on the highway, the city's busyness increases one step further. I decided to take a walk to visualize this busy environment and the diverse scenes of life around me.

As soon as I got on the road, I saw a non-stop rush of public transport and pedestrians. Busy people were running in front of the long-distance buses standing in a row at the stand. The rush of buses like Shyamoli Bangla to go to different destinations from Dhaka, and the constant shouting of the assistants standing at the bus door, made the highway come alive. The tall minarets in the distance spread a kind of atmosphere of tranquility even in the midst of the busy city. In addition, the tall buildings that raised their heads in the sky reminded me of the rapid change of modern urbanization.

Small temporary shops are arranged on one side of the road. Hawkers are sitting under colorful umbrellas with small stalls of daily necessities. Some are buying essential items from these shops on their way home after work. On the other hand, parents are walking along the road holding the hands of small children, among whom there is an anxious wait to return home after getting rid of the fatigue of the day. Whether it is an ordinary person walking towards their destination with a bag on their shoulder or a woman wearing a pink saree, every face had the urge to earn a living and the rush to return home.

This short afternoon walk seemed to highlight the very simple but real form of life. Every day, countless people walk on this busy road with hundreds of feelings and stories. Some are starting a journey to a new destination, while others are returning to their love nest after a hard day's work. How many ordinary scenes do we avoid every day, but if we stop and look a little, we have the opportunity to understand the real beauty behind this busyness. This afternoon was not just about going out, but rather a great moment to enjoy this strange pulse and dynamism of ordinary people's lives up close.
