THE WORMHOLE: ENTICING OR DANGEROUS?

Imagining finding out one day that a worm hole had been discovered on earth, a gateway to a completely new world, filled with possibilities and lots of adventures. That would be the greatest discovery mankind would ever make. Having an opening, a passway to an entirely new dimension sure sounds tempting. Imagine the endless possibilities, a new world which we could mould and shape to our desires. And yet, with all these, it comes down to a simple question. "If given the opportunity would I go?”. After giving this a deep thought and reflection I am still quite conflicted.

I have always been quite inquisitive and curious. In fact curiosity is one attribute greatly possessed in most humans. It is this quality that has pushed us in our quest for knowledge and understanding. So I would definitely be curious to know, what's this dimension like? Is it anything like the world we live in currently? Are there superficial beings there? Do people fly, or do they have grounds they walk on? What's the sun like there? Is it red, yellow or blue? So many unanswered questions keep popping to mind. And the only way to get them answered is to go and find out.

But then again, Despite the curiosity, there is also fear. The dangers and risk that comes with the unknown is indeed something to think about. Venturing I to a completely unexplored dimension or world could be quite dangerous. What's the assurance that it is inhabitable for human life, What if the air is poisonous for humans to breathe in? Or what's the guarantee or return, that we could come back if we go through the worm hole. The risk supersedes my curiosity and dwindles down my excitement and I am conflicted once again, “Would I go?”

With the many dangers I assume would come with such an unharboured dimension, survival would not be easy. For humans to survive we would need more than strength. For the dangerous predators or animals peculiar to such a world, a high level of intelligence, adaptation and strategy would be needed to skillfully overcome those creatures. We would need to be physically equipped with so many variables we know nothing about . something like oxygen tanks, a space suit probably, some food and water and a whole lot of others. This adventure is not something one would wake up one day and decide to jump into the worm hole. To explore and survive in a foreign dimension, preparation is essential. It could take me months of preparation.

But physical preparation wouldn't be enough. I believe one also needs to be prepared mentally. Because a place like that could tell us both mentally, emotionally and spiritually. To survive in such a place, an individual needs to be mentally strong to hold on, push on and endure. Mental and emotional resilience would be very essential to embark on this kind of adventure.

So now, back to the question, “Would I go?” The inquisitive part of me longs to find out what lies beneath the wormhole. But the part of me filled with caution draws me back with fear. The bottom line is, If I could go to such a foreign unexplored dimension through a wormhole, it would take months of heavy preparation both physically, mentally emotionally and otherwise. Taking such a risk without being fully prepared I know is doomed for failure and as exciting as it sounds, I love my life so much to make such a reckless decision of going into a wormhole unprepared.
