Wealth or Freedom: Which One Truly Makes Us Rich?

Freedom and wealth are two very essential things in life that everyone craves for and chase with all their might. And in the advent that one has to pick just one between both, which would it be advisable to pick. Personally I'll be picking freedom and picking it doesn't mean I don't value wealth or desire it, the truth is that I really do. But then what's the point of having so much and be able to acquire anything I want, but still lack the freedom or time to stay back to enjoy it. Wealth is every good as it'll an opportunity to give both you and your loved ones a better life. The ideal way to enjoy wealth is to have abundance of time and freedom to do whatever you like, lacking freedom to do so is one thing I can't bargain and that's because I value my freedom and the ability to do anything I want at my own pace.

Despite how amazing having wealth can be, I'm of the opinion that wealth is only valuable when we've the liberty to enjoy and use it as we seem please. So with that reality, why then will I want to work tirelessly to gather wealth if I won't have freedom to enjoy it or liberty to go to fancy places, go out on picnics with my family and travel around the world. What's is the point of having those millions or billions in my account, when I'll still have to constantly work till I'm stressed or if I'll be in captivity and have to eat what other prisoners are eating and can't use my wealth to get myself a better life through outgoings or a better set space and treatment in captivity. So with all this reality is why I said I don't want my life to be controlled by responsibilities, warders, work and constant fear that makes me lose my peace despite having alot.

Freedom is one of the best things anyone can have, not that it's greater than wealth, just that I'll be picking it if I've to choose one between both and my reason is because freedom to me means that I've the control over my time, which implies that I'll be able to make choices on how to live my life without any limitations or barriers holding me back. Picking freedom doesn't mean I'll be poor, because having Freedom means I'll have enough financial stability to the point where I can firmly say no to anything that would compromise my peace, or how much time I spend with my loved ones, or even enjoying the results of my efforts.

Overall, it's worth knowing that wealth and freedom are not enemies, you can have both and still life a good life, meaning it's very much possible to have both, I'm only writing this based on the prompt I'm responding to. One reason why I said they ain't enemies is simply because having having financial independence has it way of creating freedom, especially when you manage your wealth wisely. Many individuals begins to have problems when they've consumed themselves with the pursuit of wealth at the expense of their peace, time and relationships. Aside the prompt, personal what I want is to have enough wealth and plenty of freedom, than to have wealth without time to live to enjoy it.
