If there's something I don't like, it's hoarding items for so long in my home, especially when they aren't needed or considered useless, but somehow, I find it hard to discard them away for some sentimental reasons. If you are looking for the best way to keep things, useless gadgets, give them to my aunt. Sometimes, I wonder if she enjoys keeping those old stuff while adding more baggage for her - this, I consider unnecessary, especially when you have to move to another place, and these stuff are like loads for you.
But I don't hesitate to throw some stuff away when need be, especially when they don't have any attachment to me. Some gadgets I still have with me are:
I remember someone asking that I give her this gadget, but I refused because, to me, it was a gift given to me and shouldn't be given out. This gadget holds dearly to my heart as it was dashed to me by my younger sister. This served a great purpose and entertainment for some months until something got spoilt and wasn't working again. The sound isn't giving the goosebumps as before when I'd played it in the room, enjoying the loud bang, of course, ensuring I don't disturb my neighbours with it.
Just last year October, it stopped working for a long time even if it's charged fully, and the sound isn't pleasant to my ears any more. I had to dump it somewhere in my rack - if not for this prompt, I wouldn't have remembered something like this still exists.
I felt so pained when this computer stopped working due to carelessness on my side. It was gifted as a birthday gift last year, though it was a laptop used by my sister, who felt she should give it out after being gifted a new one. This Lenovo laptop has a touch screen, and was very nice when I was using it to complement the one I already have. But on this day, it had a great fall that affected the keyboard and the body, giving it a break into two.
I explained to my sister, and she suggested I get a new keyboard and fix the fault, but the last time I checked for the price to fix everything, I couldn't afford it, and since I have my own laptop, I left it somewhere - useless, isn't it? I don't think I might have to consider repairing it, maybe in the future, but I'm never going to discard it. Let it be for an exhibition in my home. Hahaha 😀
This phone belonged to my brother. I was just scrolling through some images on my phone and found it. This was gotten second-hand in the year 2021 before he entered the University and had a fault after falling from his pocket one day. He took it to repair it, only to be told the phone was an outdated one and couldn't be repaired since the part they needed couldn't be found anywhere. He had to keep it without throwing it away.
These are just a few of the gadgets no longer in use and definitely considered useless, except for the laptop, which I might later reconsider fixing someday.

So I'm not the only one. I have my old phones, even the button ones, the wi-fi gadgets, everything. Good to see you keep them.
Hahaha. Yea, those stuff can bring back memories.
Ahaha, I understand, I do this too. I have one broken desktop and two broken laptops sitting in my closet, dating back to 2001 (when I bought my first computer, the desktop). I keep things until they wear out generally, but then with computers I feel like all my information is on there and people who know computers could probably take those memory parts and get it, so I'm afraid of throwing away. Plus they were my trusty companions for so long, the first two computers even have names. 😄
!BEER
Yes, it feels so hard discarding such tools away when there are lots of information there. My first laptop had lots of information in it and suddenly stopped coming back on, I did all I could to turn it on, but didn't. I felt so angered and bitter losing those stuff. Now, I back them up on cloud to avoid any stories later on.
Hahaha 😀 You are so attached to them, really.
Thank you 😊
In the case of the sound system, I can understand the sentiment behind it but still, I would prefer to throw it if I were in your place. And in case of laptop and mobile I am also in the same boat like you. I know that selling I can get some money but I also don't bother myself to sell those. I feel that someday, I may need those. I think we just need a reason to keep those and we give ourselves a reason for it.
Yes, that is it. We need that reason to keep something and if it's worth it, then let's keep it and if not, then, it's time for a goodbye forever.
