There are several people going through things like this. Parents that are exhausted will still smile and try to play with their children because they don't want their children to feel neglected. I understand that this might be a necessary sacrifice, but will society care if that sacrifice is draining the parent? There are students that are unsatisfied with their academic conditions but will never speak because they might be tagged rebellious or too controversial. So those student will learn put on the mask a good student, and to keep quiet, and go with the norm. The list can go on and on.
Now I understand that people too can do things that will throw society into chaos all in the name of 'being their true selves', which is why many past generations tend to be intolerant and unforgiving towards people that through being themselves they instigate societal unrest. And to some extent, the masks has become like a tool for peace a harmony in the society, despite how unsustainable it is.
In conclusion, the masks society forces people to put on are becoming heavier as the time passes, and soon it will drop. God help us if we aren't prepared.
What those persons who are beginning to feel overwhelmed by those masks can do is to express themselves with high consideration of how it will affect those around them. Not to bottle it up and then burst out later and become even worse than wearing a mask.
