CULTURAL HERITAGE.

Generally,we all know that culture is peoples way of life and it gone beyond.
To me, it also refers to the shared values, customs, behaviors and artifact of a group of peoples that they are known with.
In different lands today, people perform things in a way totally different from others such as their marriage rite, greetings, foods, dressing pattern, including their traditional practices.

Stating from where i come from and been brought up,we have different cultures we practice uphold tightly.
As an Igbo girl and from the southern part of the world we don't play with our Culture because it says so much about us and when you see a person from there, you need not to be asked if the person is from Igbo land no matter where it is.
We have different cultural heritage and practices we do but I will only speak about few of it.
Raised in Ebonyi State, they is this cultural practices we always do and it didn't starts just from our time but from the ancient time.

The month of August is the month our people don't used to joke with because there's always a very big festival that always happen and meanwhile this year's own will still be holding very soon by ending of this month.
People from different places, far and near continues making arrangements on how they will come back because of interesting it used to be.
Peoples invites their friends to join them either to partake or to witness how the festival is usually done.
We call it "NEW YAM FESTIVAL".
It is done to give glory to him who made our farm produce to do well.
Everyone harvesting their yams, giving to others we don't have yam as well.
Even the philanthropist in my hometown comes back to take part in this new yam festival and it is just about harvesting our new yams, they go as far as making it a very big ceremonies, our men using native powder[NZU] to rob on their bodies, dancing, and jubilations and songs always fill in the tin air during the celebration.

Families uses this Period to see their loved ones because most times, people don't come back during December period again but will rather come back to make sure they don't miss it....to see how good this festival it is because they won't like not to witness the yearly ceremony and am not excluding because no one always like it to be told as a story of how the event went on but rather want to be an eye witness and it is during this event you will see any kinds of cars one has never seen before.

FOOD
No matter how many times I eats this soup,I don't get tired of it😂🤣
My people are known with this delicious soup call "EGBURUEGBU".
The name was gotten from how it is always prepared, they soup is usual prepared in a very rich way that after tasting it, you won't hesitate to tell the person to teach you on how to prepare so as you can cook it at home with your families.
This food, can be served during different entertainment because everyone is always eager to eat this food especially looking at it,one will be salivating badly🤣.
Peoples always prefers the soup to be served to them rather than any other meals, just like when someone is returning back, you will already put call through for them to prepare the soup for you because it's always fresh and hot and has very higher nutrients.
I don't want to continue digging deeper before......

TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE

Whenever you see marriage taking place, from how the dress, you don't need to ask again if it's an Igbo girl or Igbo people marriage because their attire says
a lot.
The way the bride will be adorned with beads and the wrapper tighten around will make u to stop by to see glamorous the occasion is.
That time families will feel happy because the occasion will always be the talk of nation but when they bride is about to leave, everyone gets to miss and start keeping faces 😁🤣

I love some Yoruba cultures including their way of greetings and I will also like to have a taste of some of their foods but not all please.
I love their greetings, they show a sincere respect whenever they wants to someone older than them not to just throw the greetings and go your way just like our own way.

I remembers when my sister returned back home after been raised at the Yoruba land, before she will finish greeting someone we have already gone far leaving her beyond because her way of greeting was totally different from ours meanwhile we will just throw the greeting and continue our going...no wasting time, she will always say it's disrespectful to elders but she didn't remember it is Igbo land not Yoruba again.

Thanks for stopping by.
