First of all, when I think about the power supply in my area, I’d say it has improved compared to how it used to be some time ago. I’m currently in school right now, but before I left home last month, I noticed that we were getting electricity more frequently than before. There were days when we had power in the morning, afternoon, evening, and even into the midnight hours. That kind of steady supply was something we weren’t used to in the past, so it felt like a step forward.
However, as much as it has improved, there are still some issues that need to be worked on — especially if we’re talking about how things can be made better. One of the main problems is the lack of power at night. It’s like the electricity distribution in my area is programmed to cut off just when people are settling down for the night. Most nights, there’s no light, and it can be very uncomfortable. Several times we have to sleep without electricity and it usually becomes really frustrating, especially during hot seasons when the weather is not friendly at all.
I feel like the electricity providers in my area should take that into consideration. Nighttime is when most people are home and need power the most — to sleep well, charge their phones, iron clothes for the next day, or even just to relax after a stressful day. Improving electricity distribution during the night should be a top priority.
Another issue I’ve noticed is the occasional breakdowns or faults that happen once in a while. For example, after I left home and returned to school, i was on a phone call with my mum and then she said that there was no power for about two days. According to her, it was because there was a fault, and they had to wait for the officials to come and fix it. This isn’t the first time something like that has happened. Sometimes, it could be a blown transformer, disconnected wire, or something technical that we don’t even fully understand — but what’s frustrating is how long it takes to resolve.
To make things better, I think there should be a more reliable and responsive maintenance system in place. If something develops a fault, the officials should be quick to respond and resolve it without residents having to beg or chase them around. Sometimes, it even takes several complaints before they act. That approach needs to change. A simple text message system, or a dedicated hotline for our area, would make things easier. That way, residents can report issues easily, and the team can act fast.
Also, the people in charge of distributing power in my area should try to balance the schedule better. It shouldn’t be that we have light only during the day when most people are not home. Power should be shared fairly, both day and night, so everyone benefits.
So, in a nusthell, while the power supply in my area has improved over time, there’s still room for improvement. To make it better, they need to supply electricity more regularly at night, attend to faults quickly, and create an easy way for residents to report problems. If these things are done, then life in my area will be much more comfortable for everyone.

If the power company thinks like this, then I think electricity will be better everywhere.
It's sad they can never think this way. We just have to keep on living in the country like that and hopefully you have what it takes to japa then don't hesitate 😉
😂 😂. Talking about japa, what's the probability that where you want to japa to is better than Nigeria... Anyways a lot of people say as long it's not Nigeria they'll be cool with it.
