THE JOURNEY SO FAR

Before Hive, I never knew anything about web3 or 2 or even 1 although I engaged in them. I remember the first time I heard about web3 and I was like, what is that again? I perceived it as something hard to comprehend and I didn’t push it. I just tried to do my usual blogging and not care about web3. It took me weeks and even months before I finally understood a little about what web3 means. I’m not even sure if I understand it well enough now, lol. So if you ask me what is web3? My response will be, web3 is a social media platform that is decentralized unlike other social media platforms like instagram, facebook, LinkedIn and the likes.

So, back to the sci-fi prompt for this week, we are asked to share our web3 journey so far. For me, my journey started a bit late but it has been all fun, learning and growing since I did. A lot has changed about my personality, my approach to things and even my attitude to the way I do things and react to people. Knowing and interacting with web3 was a game changer for me. Like I said, Hive was the first web3 platform I ever engaged with and also where I even learnt that there is something called web3. I have seen it somewhere before but it didn’t make any sense to me until Hive came.

So, I joined hive about 3 years ago and ever since then, I have had several opportunities to learn about the crypto world and web3 in general. I consume different contents from different users and that broadened my understanding of what web3 is all about. Well, my major aim was to grow on hive and understand hive enough to be able to tell others about it without blinking. So far so good, it has been going well but a bit slowly due to the fact that I have been super engaged offline due to my school activities.

But thanks to web3 (Hive), I have been able to master or rather, learn how to stay consistent, connected and contented. Hive has taught me the benefits of doing something consistently and intentionally. Before I knew web3, I had always thought I wasn’t good at any other thing except cleaning and making hair do for people, especially not writing. But hive has changed that for me. Hive has taught me that I can be anything I want. It will only take time and consistency. My account on hive experienced the highest growth in my first year because I was super determined to stay consistent and grow. Well, back then, I knew I had plans of pursuing my academics so I had to use that opportunity wisely and it paid off.

Besides the fact that Hive has helped me grow personally, it has also improved my life financially. Today, I’m not as scared of financial responsibility as I was before I met hive. Thanks to hive, I have been able to cultivate the habit of saving along side giving. It’s still not well balanced yet but the improvement that I have made is all thanks to hive. I still have a long way in this web3 journey of mine but I’m super happy I started this journey on hive! I have met great friends and mentors here and I know there are more to come. Hive is what I call my spark point of web3. It is where it all started and I don’t mind if it even ends here too.
