A PURPOSE AGAINST ALL ODDS

(edited)

Two days ago, the former president of my country passed away. I came across a video on the internet where people shared their takes on his death. The truth is that the former president ruined the country to a great extent. During his tenure, the prices of goods and services doubled. The economy of the country became worse than it had ever been. However, before his death, he asked for the forgiveness of Nigerians. While some people agreed to forgive him because he is human after all, others cursed him, saying he shall not find peace even after his death. Watching that video made me think about life. It made me think about my life. When I die, what will people say about me? Will they say that Hopestylist achieved great things? Will they remember me for good or bad things?

Every day, babies are born. Every day, people die. When we came into the world, we came with nothing. Although when we came into the world, our hands were folded into a fist, but we came with nothing. We grew up, learning things and discovering ourselves. People build houses, buy cars, private jets, and purchase land on an island. But the fact is that we will take none of this to the afterlife. We will all die one day, so what is the point of hustling to build houses? What is the point of buying expensive jewelry when we will one day die and not take it with us? The question is, despite the fact that we will all die and leave everything behind one day, does that mean we shouldn't do anything? Does that mean we should stop hustling?

Well, in my opinion, you need to have a motivation for doing things. For today’s Sci-Fi multiverse prompt, the community asks us what our purpose in life is. Who motivates you or keeps you going? Some people wake up every morning to go to work only to get abused by their bosses. Some people go to work in the morning and come back at night. Is it all worth it?

A few years ago, I decided to further my education. I did a program called JUPEB. JUPEB program is really expensive, but thanks to my sister, parents, and Hive, I was able to cover the bills. When I started the program, I said to myself, “Maybe this program is not for me.” “Maybe school is not for me.” I didn't like the fact that the things I was reading were not sticking in. It was as if I was pouring water into a basket filled with holes. I almost gave up, then I remembered how I got there. I remembered how hard it was to gather money and pay the bills, so I put in the effort and surprisingly, I came out with flying colors. Even when I gained admission into the university, I almost gave up on my education. Some of the courses are really difficult to understand, but when I remember my sister, parents, and those who will be happy to see me succeed, I put in extra effort. My siblings and parents are some of my biggest motivations.

When it comes to things or people who motivate me to keep going, God comes first. God has been with me through thick and thin. He has been with me during my darkest and brightest moments. Knowing that He will always be with me as long as I do His will, motivates me to keep going. God gives my life meaning. Without Him, my life would be meaningless. When you know God, He becomes your primary motivation.

Thanks for reading.

Hmm this is true. God is the greatest pusher. He is the one who keeps pushing us and giving us the strength to keep going

When we are surrounded by good people then they would have an influence on our life decisions. Hopefully our leaders have one or 2 like that and not life wreckers then the nation would have been a better one and not in shambles

Glad to have you back @hopestylist

Thank God you did not give up and it was good that you remembered the source of where you are from — the people around you, which fuels your motivation. At some point we might want to give up buy once we remember some things, the energy and motivation resurrect again.
