Do Ghosts Pay Rent?

I am not really a fan of watching horror films maybe that is why part of me does not want to believe that ghosts exist. Over here in my country, or maybe the culture that I came from, they so much believe in things like this, especially when telling a story or sharing dreams they had during their sleep, and a lot of us usually get scared back then, most especially at night, since we believed that is when ghosts move around.

Back then, especially if I am all by myself and I hear some unusual sounds, maybe outside my window, I get scared because I do think that it is a ghost or something. Then I cover myself with my blanket, thinking that I am safe.

But at the same time, I totally get why some certain people believe in ghosts or spirits. And I cannot blame them because of all those moonlight stories that we have been told. And some of these stories really look so real that we still carry the memories around, and at some point, the fear also still lingers around too.

Sometimes, I act practically if I have that feeling that someone is in my space. That is when I switch on all the lights in the house if there is light, double-check if the door is properly locked, move around to check, and even say a word of prayer because if I just decided to do nothing, the fear might overpower me.

And practically speaking, due to some of the things we have heard, we have created the picture of ghosts in our minds, and most of the horror movies and books we read and even stress add to it psychologically. But if our mind is totally pure from all these things, we have a clear and calm mind, not that one that's always scouting for ghosts.

Do not get me wrong, those stories that we have been told by our parents, grandparents, and movies we watch are still good. But these days, I always check the type of movie i watch because I don't want anything controlling my mind, most especially at night filled with darkness.
