Nigeria is my beautiful country full of prospects and things to better people's life even though most of it haven't materialized yet but we remained optimistic that things would soon be better. Talking about the key word for this engagement innovation; This implies new ways, ideas to create something. There are a lot of things that needs a touch in my country to be better but for the sake of this post, I would like to share just one of the innovation I would like considering the nature and state of things presently.

The battle for electricity in Nigeria has become a consistent and reoccurring thing needs good attention to change the narrative. If I had the opportunity to innovate, I would like to address an alternative to electricity. The lack of consistency in supply of light has been a battling force for us. The country has sold the electricity body to different organizations till no visible development has been recorded.

Most at times once it's raining season, you begin to hear different kind of complaints and you won't even enjoy the light for at least two hours. This problem affects even the factory, banks and several organizations that requires light to perform function.

I will prefer solar light system compared to any other one. This kind of light system is eco-friendly and the pollution level is lower than others. Solar electricity affords you the opportunity to regulate the light at your discretion and guaranteed ot constant supply of light. I traveled to a community last year, I discovered that solar electricity serves them and lots of activities are vibrant. In one of the renounced universities in my side have successfully installed their solar electricity system. There is 24hours of uninterrupted light supply. The significance of solar light can't be overemphasized.

A solar system is a must have here in Nigeria but the only problem is it's not affordable, mostly if you want it to power the whole house

I’d like to add that scaling solar energy could truly bring global equity and bridge the rural-urban divide. Think about rural communities where grid access is insufficient or non-existent. Micro solar grids could catapult the rural economy, it could foster economic growth, and improve quality of life. But then again the high initial cost is a high barrier for rurals. That is where the Govt should step in and subsidize and the rewards will be in the long run. Socio-economic disparities could be truly addressed with solar energy.
