A World Without Technology?

(edited)

So, we had a similar discourse earlier this week in a hangout on the Hive Learners server which I was privileged to be the host. We discussed technology, with many things relating to what we have here on this prompt. Thankfully, @afrikens who wrote on this prompt earlier made me realise there's a similar discourse here, prompting whether a meeting was held as the topics were similar. Well, that's by the way. Technology is an interesting and popular topic, so you should understand why.

I'm certain to be right when I say that everyone who will probably come across this post has enjoyed a form of technology. We know technology advances with time, but we all have had a taste of technology one way or another. Basically, our world is influenced by technology. Everything is basically done with technology. We can't deny the help of technology and how much ease it has brought to life. What used to take more time, energy and processes now requires less of all that to achieve efficient results.

This beckons the big question, will we survive a world without technology, a space where all these technologies are absent and oblivious? It'll be a hard call. And I don't really see many getting through. It's a good thing that technology has done for us. It has also left us with the peril of total dependence and the loss of human effort. Is it that we've totally relied on technology or that we need it? I guess these are two different cases. But the thing is, it'll be hard, and even impossible for many of us to get by without technology.

There was a time when this was not the story. We go back to the primitive, Stone Age, when things were all done manually, and technology was an obscure thing. The people then get by each day and activity through manual efforts, labours and abilities. Nothing was tied to technology. One would wonder then, how did they do things or get things done? Think of communication, labour, work and all that. Things that we solely use technology and depend on it, they had their way to go about it.

The world without technology was a quiet and simple one. Today, with technology, we're a loud, restless, sophisticated people, sometimes baseless. Life was easy in its own way, not like the technological ease we have. There was more humanity and connection than we have today, though connected through various online media. It's a great irony, but as the world advances through technology, it becomes less habitable and more deadly; check our ecosystem. Something that makes me admire the world without technology.

Nevertheless, it's hard to choose against a world with technology. Not even when you're born into it. This is actually the world we know and have lived with. One technological tool, device or machine has been an aid since we knew what life meant. See how difficult it is to just easily give it up, right? A world with technology is what we know. The other is a story, which nonetheless is quite adaptable, for there are people currently living with little or no technology. Some people can adapt to it. Especially, if situation warrants or demands.

Today someone was saying we should cancel bank usage and I start to think about it in reality, can we really cope with that decision
That's how bad things have become with the whole reliance of a thing

"I’ve realized that a world without technology simply isn't viable. Everyone, from the peoples of the African savannah to the Inuit of the Arctic, relies on technology. The issue is that we often equate 'technology' solely with the digital realm, when in reality, it encompasses any tool used by humans to facilitate their survival. It isn't our genes that set us apart from other species; it is our ability to use technology to transform harsh environments into viable ones—as seen in modern-day Dubai or, in ancient times, with the Nazca civilization."

World without technology is going to be a really terrible one in my opinion and that's because of the ease that comes with all technological devices and innovation.

That just it. As dependent as we are on technology, if it is mandatory to go back to the world without technology then we will adapt but it might be hard to cope with on time
