Mechanized Farming! A Curse Or A Blessing

Agriculture!!!

Well agriculture according to the Oxford dictionary is the science and art of cultivating the soil, growing crops, and raising livestock, including the preparation and marketing of these products for human or other use.

It is also more like the backbone of our survival in life, because no matter what we do in life we still need food and not just food but also for survival, a lot of things we use I. Our daily lives was once a plant, tree or an animal, examples are rubber for plastics, cotton for our cloths, animal skins for our leathers etc

It is one thing we can never run away from, I see it as the major driver of our economy. Without agriculture, surviving on earth for humans won't be possible, at least for now.
While growing up I had a little experience with farming, then my grandparents had a small farm where we planted vegetables and we had a little plantation, it was nothing too serious then, at least I knew how to hold a cutlass and hoe under a hot sun. I'm now into a bit of agriculture myself, but I'm currently still learning, making a lot of mistakes, bouncing back and hopefully one day I'll crack the code and become one of the best farmers in my region.

Now talking about mechanized agriculture, I believe it is a blessing even though it comes with it's own issues , somehow I feel machine has made it easy for farmers all round the world, they are able to produce more farm produce with lesser manual labour, eliminating a lot of problems that used to be there before now, now you can cultivate hectares of land with little to no human interference especially now that Artificial intelligence is on the rise. I personally can only think of three major problems with mechanized farming, first is the cost of acquiring these machines a lot of farmers can't afford the machines because they can be so pricy, second is the fact that with the rise of machines a lot of traditional farmers and labourers would lose their jobs and lastly is the effect of the emissions of these machines into the atmosphere thereby causing air pollution.

If I ever want to embark on the journey of creating an app that connects farmers to consumers , I think I already know what it would look like. I am thinking of an app that helps farmers reach the consumers, eliminating the middlemen and allowing end users get the produce fresh and cheap. I will create the app in such a way that farmers post their farm produce on the app and buyers are able to reach out to them for the amount they would
need and then getting it delivered to them with delivery vehicles.

I will name the app FarmWise. Sure has a nice ring to it. So consumers can reach farmers for fresh products like eggs, fishes, vegetables, fruits, etc. I know it would definitely be a good app for both the consumers and farmers.
