You become a failure only when you stop trying

Failure is one of the things that successful people encounter before they get to the position they hold today... He who is not ready to fail chooses to remain stagnant because if we do not try new things, how can we be good at them?

Our passion will lead us to greatness. This quote is not for someone who is scared of failure or losing to others, I used to be that guy who was afraid of losing to others until one day I had a bicycle race with a street brother, even though he won but losing to him didn't feel as bad as I thought it would be, instead it only made me want to practice riding bicycle more so I can win him someday.

One good thing about failure is that it teaches us to be better at the thing. When we fail, it hurts, but we realize the mistake we made that caused us to fail, so we try again and again until we get it right.

I have a lot of stories that deal with failure, but I will share the one that hivers can resonate with, which was my humble beginning on Splinterlands.

It all started in 2018 when many hivers were excited about the launch of the best game on Hive. Before the time the game was playable, they did a presale and Neoxian did a lot of giveaways for his citizens, which further made us interested in the game, so we all await when the game will be playable.

On that fateful day, I read as members of the citizens boast of their first win, and I also decided to battle to share my excitement, unfortunately, I didn't understand how the game play works, the interface was not helping either and after trying few times, I became frustrated that I decided to quit because I do not like wasting time on things I don't understand.

I left the game for days and later sold my cards to a friend of mine who already got how the gameplay works, it would have ended there, but my friend keeps taunting me with her win, so I decided to give the game a try again...

Nothing changes because I still do not understand how the game works, and I tried my best this second time to understand it, but it was just not happening... I bought some cards again when I wanted to give the game a second trial, which I ended up selling again, and this time I made up my mind that I was done for good!.

I still get taunted, but this time I just don't care. A few months later, I bought a laptop, and after doing some tasks on Hive, I decided to try out this game again. When I logged in, the interface was entirely different from what I saw on mobile, and that was when I realized the problem was the phone I was using!.

The laptop made me understand the game, even though I was not yet good at winning but the fact I understand what to do and how to set my team was a big step to my splinterlands journey, I played the game everyday and night, I lost a lot of battles but with each loss I learnt a lesson which helped me in future battles.

I would have regretted it if I ended up giving up on the game, but I didn't; I quit and tried it multiple times until I got the hang of it.
