Nowadays, people just want to hear your story so they can mock you. Be careful who you share your struggles and tough situations with. In the end, out of 50 people you tell, it might be just 1 or 2 that will truly show up for you. So, what is the essence of exposing yourself?

Sometimes, it is better to nurture your pain and heal alone. Some people actually heal better on their own.

When it comes to pretending to be okay, I am very good at it. First, I don’t like disturbing others with my problems. Secondly, I feel some people are secretly happy when they hear you are going through a tough time, so it is better to keep your pain away from them.

Sometime in 2015, I was really down, unhappy, and tired of the life I was living.

I worked so hard but had nothing to show for it. That evening, I was indoors alone, with tears in my eyes, when my sister showed up unexpectedly. I quickly wiped my face because I wasn’t expecting her visit. We talked, but I avoided eye contact because she could easily tell when something was wrong. After a few minutes, she left, and I went back to thinking about my life.

Then suddenly, I felt a push to step outside, which I did. While I was walking, I heard songs coming from a church nearby. The same feeling that pushed me outside also led me into the church, and that was the beginning of something good and life-changing for me.

I told God about my problems, and it felt like He had been waiting for me. Since then, I have seen so many changes and blessings in my life after devoting myself to Him.

To cut it short, it is okay to appear strong before others; most people can’t truly help you anyway. But never pretend you are okay before God. Tell Him your problems, and you will be surprised at how quickly He answers.
