Sometimes the person that everyone goes to meet with their sad stories, the person who comforts and cheers them up, might be going through something worse than others, yet they will never know.

This is why they are in the best position to comfort them anyway, because they know what pain is and they know how it feels to be sad.
We have people who are good listeners. Even when they are sad, they will wave off their sadness just to comfort others who come to them. I think these people are special because not everyone can do that.
Why do people hide their sadness and feign happiness instead?
In this context, I also feel it is not everyone who deserves to know your story.
It is okay to share your story with someone you know you can pour your heart out to and feel better afterwards.

It is also okay to share your problems with people who can actually solve them. It could be financial help or maybe a connection.
If it is neither of these two, I feel there is no reason to share your problems with them, because a problem shared now is no longer a problem half solved. It becomes a problem that every Tom, Dick, and Harry now knows about.
We are now in a world where people can judge you for your mistakes, and it is not like they are perfect either.
Most importantly, people change. Your best friend can turn into a stranger in an instant, and you will wonder what went wrong.
Some people are fond of using your weaknesses against you when you fall out with them, which is the reason why we must be careful about what we share when things are still going well between us.
