It's nice how you calmly thought about the disadvantages as well.
But for me, I wouldn't mind if it ends up doing it more than I can as long as I the user isn't misusing it's primary clone purpose and I have absolute control over its existence

That last part is where the problem comes in, you can't have absolute control over it
