When I was younger, my mindset about pollution was that when you fart, you have caused pollution. We say “This person has polluted the air”. It was the right thing because the air was indeed polluted but the wrong mindset was that it wasn’t the only cause of pollution, several other pollutants are more serious than just farts.
I learned that even littering the floor when there is a waste bin for refuse is another form of pollution and many other forms of pollution. I got to know that exhausts from engines and heavy machines are actually a cause of pollution too.
Having all of these in place in an environment it’s crystal clear that such an environment is not advisable for humans because of the unhealthy impact it will make on those who reside there, if not the cause of their death.
Nature has itself in its best form, this is why we have water flows, the sloppy and hilly land terrains, rivers and seas, plants and animals, the air we breathe in is what the plants produce as their waste, and what we breathe out as waste is what the plants take in to be useful to them.
Rainfall, sunshine, soils, weather, and every other thing about nature are intact, but it's we, humans who will tamper with them and want them to suit us in a way we feel more comfortable, in the end, we tend to be the one damaging nature and even ourselves.
I read somewhere that we humans are gradually tearing off the ozone layer ahead of us, and this is something that bridges the direct impact of ultraviolet rays on us with the use of heavy combustion engines that release toxic chemicals to the surface. Whether it’s true or not, one certain thing about it is the fact that we are the ones damaging ourselves.
I also got the information that the use of all these disposable takeaways is not accepted in Lagos anymore. This is how it should be around the globe. It's best if we can use stiff and then have them recycled for something better.
Some of these materials are so strong that even when you get to dig them from the soil after so many years, they will never decay, instead, they’ll take their actual shape and remain there over time. Imagine what such a land will become in years to come when it probably has to be used.
Anything that should be under the soil surface should be something that can decay over time, this way it will even enrich the soil.
It's funny that even in our immediate environment nowadays we have turned pollution into a normal thing. If care is not taken they might turn your front yard into a refuse dump. Just one sign of untidiness and then you have people dump all of their refuse at your doorstep, they will even get to urinate there.
The worst one is when it is just about to rain or when it’s raining, come and see how people will dump their refuses into the drainage systems and gutters when you challenge them that they are causing pollution, then they will respond that in the end it will all be taken to the river and the river will flush it off. But how? When everything is already gathered somewhere at someone’s doorstep.

The dumping of dirty inside rain is one thing the community can fix. By giving fine for not cleaning place after rain.
It's so apolloing and annoying when people dumb their refuses without fine. If someone can be caught and made to clean other places then others will learn.
