Ghost Mode

(edited)

If i were to talk about one of the days i can never forget then i will be talking about the days when we lived in a developing community while i was much younger. Little did we know about life and the reality of it. We tend to get scared easily, we were so full of fears and that's just part of being a child.

I think one of the factors that contributed to it was that of the movies we watched. Watching Nollywood and the mindset of Juju and its consequences must have imbibed those fears in us. So this is how it happens in the real world? We began to question ourselves.

I remembered a day when I was sent on an errand to buy something. I walked down the street without noticing anything for the first time. I think it was due to some distractions. On my way back something happened. My eyes sighted a strange thing. It has some kind of ritual appearance, at first I thought it wasn’t real, but when i mentally visualised how it happens in movies. I ran for my dear life.

Since then I promised not to take that path anymore. So the next time I was sent to get something, I decided to follow the long route instead. At the expense of getting back home late. When I got home I was asked why I was late, but I couldn't say what I did. I lied.

Then the following day I was sent that same errand and was asked not to come late. So I don't have a choice than to follow that route.

This time I hope you can see my speed. The moment I got there I became a mini flash. It was like life ended at the top of my nose. I ran and I couldn't feel my legs on the floor.

I did this for a few years, thinking the place must have been possessed by a curse. Then the owner started building on his land, and it was then I realized that it was just something to scare people away.
