[TV] SOLO LEVELLING

It's been a while I finished Solo Leveling, but I don't know why I have never thought to review it..... like, this is an anime that fully hooked me from start to finish, yet somehow it just sat in my memory without me ever putting my thoughts down properly. Well, better late than never, let's talk about it.

So the story is set in a world where these portals called Gates started appearing about ten years back, connecting the normal world to dungeons filled with monsters, to fight these things, certain people got special abilities and became Hunters, now, our main guy, Sung Jinwoo, is a Hunter too, but not the impressive kind. He's known as the world's weakest hunter, the type of E-rank so pathetic that even other weak hunters look down on him, and the reason he still risks his life going into low-level dungeons despite being basically useless in a fight is to pay for his mother's medical bills, so from the jump, you already feel for this guy, he is not out here chasing glory, he's just trying to survive and take care of his family.

Everything changes when he and his party stumble into what's called a Double Dungeon, this unusually dangerous, hidden dungeon nobody was prepared for, things go horribly wrong, people start dying left and right, and Jinwoo, believing he is the only one left and about to die too, somehow survives and wakes up in a hospital three days later, except now there is a mysterious screen floating in front of him that only he can see, like something straight out of a video game.

And that is when the real story kicks off.., so it turns out Jinwoo has gained this extremely rare power to literally level up, gaining stats, strength, and abilities the exact way a character would in an RPG and nobody else has ever had this power before, so he is not just getting stronger, he's rewriting what is even possible for a Hunter, from there, we watch him go from being mocked and pitied to slowly, steadily becoming an absolute monster of a fighter, said in the best way possible.

What I loved most is how satisfying his growth feels, It is not some rushed suddenly he is powerful nonsense, you see him grind, take quests from the System... gain experience, get stronger bit by bit, and by the time he is facing enemies that used to terrify him, he handles them without even blinking, It is the ultimate underdog story, except instead of magic just being handed to him for no reason, it actually makes sense within the world's own game like logic.

The animation is also insanely good, like properly cinematic, the fight scenes have this fluid, almost hypnotic quality to them, and the way the anime builds tension before a big battle had me holding my breath more than once, also the soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting too, it knows exactly when to hit hard and when to pull back, which makes every power up moment feel earned instead of just flashy for the sake of it.

Beyond the action, there's also this quiet emotional thread running through it all, his relationship with his mother and sister, the loneliness of carrying a secret nobody else understands, and slowly earning trust and respect from people who used to overlook him..... so It gives the power fantasy some actual heart instead of just being empty spectacle.

Truthfully Solo Leveling earns its hype, It has got the perfect mix of intense action, satisfying growth, and just enough emotional weight to keep you invested beyond the fights, if you have been sleeping on this one, just, go and watch it, you will thank me later.
