[TV] Reacher - 2022

I heard people talk about Jack Reacher for a while but I never really understood why people were so obsessed with the character.. Then I watched the series and now I get it...

Jack Reacher is basically that guy you really don't want to have an argument with....

The series is about Reacher, a former military investigator who lives a very simple life.. He doesn't have a permanent home, doesn't seem interested in settling down, carries very little with him and just moves from town to town..

He first arrives at a small town called Margrave, Georgia, expecting nothing more than a quiet stop Instead, he gets arrested for murder and that's basically how the whole madness starts...

What I really enjoyed about the first season is that it doesn't immediately give you all the answers... Reacher starts investigating because he realizes the murder is connected to something much bigger, involving corruption, criminals, crooked police officers and a pretty serious conspiracy and this is where Reacher becomes really enjoyable.

He's not just strong..
He's actually smart..
That's probably one of the things I like most about the character..
He can walk into a room and immediately notice things that other people don't... He remembers tiny details, connects information and figures things out while everyone else is still trying to understand what's happening and then, when talking doesn't work...
Well... The fists come out.

Alan Ritchson was honestly made for this role.. looking at him, you immediately understand why people said he was a much better physical match for the character described in Lee Child's books.. He's enormous, intimidating and carries himself like someone who knows exactly what he's capable of but what surprised me was his humor...

Reacher isn't constantly cracking jokes, but he has this very dry, almost emotionless way of responding to situations that makes some scenes genuinely funny..

Someone will be having a full emotional conversation with him and he'll just stare at them and say something completely unexpected..

I also really enjoyed the supporting characters..
Finlay and Roscoe in the first season give Reacher people to bounce off, and their investigation makes the story feel more like a proper crime thriller rather than just a guy walking around beating criminals up and that's important because, honestly, if Reacher was only about fighting, I probably would've gotten bored...
The mystery keeps things moving..

Then Season 2 changes things up and brings some familiar faces from Reacher's military past into the story. I liked the idea, although I don't think Season 2 was as strong as the first..

Season 3, though?
Now we're talking.
I thought Season 3 got the show back into its groove... It becomes more personal and brings Reacher back into the kind of brutal, close-range action that made the first season so enjoyable...

My biggest issue with Reacher is actually the formula..
After a while, you start recognizing how these stories work.
there's always a bigger conspiracy behind everything..
It's entertaining, but eventually you can see the pattern..
