[Movie] "To All The Boys I've Loved Before" Review

I'll say I'm one of the weird ones to have seen this franchise backwards, you'd know how weird that is if you've seen a franchise before. Honestly, I didn't know it had sequels until I was done with the first sequel of the first release. Even though, I saw the story backwards, the experience is still worth sharing and it's because I had it different.

Before I finally saw "To All The Boys Always And Forever" and then to "To All The Boys P.S I Still Love You", I saw the latest of the franchise first "XO Kitty". It was that series, the lead character made statements that got me curious to find the last movie she starred in because it was related to the story in "XO Kitty" and I found the previous.

Just like that, the story kept taking me backwards until I finally saw the first part of the franchise "To All The Boys I've Loved Before" which I am choosing to review first and I'll share my thoughts on the other two but I'll skip reviewing "XO Kitty" again since I've wrote reviews about the series here on Hive, maybe I'll share it later.

"To All The Boys I've Loved Before" is a franchise movie, it's first release was in 2018 starring Lana Condor as Lara Jane and Noah Centineo as Peter, both as main characters with Anna Cathcart as Kitty, Andrew Bachelor, Israel Broussard, John Corbett and other supporting characters with good presence in the main story.

It's a movie in the genres of teen romance and romantic comedy, an adaptation from a book. The movie is 1hr plus, written by Sofia Alvarez and Jenny Han and directed by Susan Johnson.

Lara Jean is a high school girl who is almost invisible as she thinks people around don't notice her. She writes letters to the boys she is infatuated with but keeps them in her closet instead of mailing them without realizing how crazy and risky it is. Things changes for her when her sister, Kitty discovers the letters and actually sends them to all the boys they were written to.

She got to pretend to date her first crush, who had rejected her after reading the letter sent to him, to keep safe and be able to remove people's mind from her secret that have gotten out. The pretending date begins to get real as they both realized they feel something deeper than just a crush and just rejecting a letter written to you.

Like I said, I saw this one last after I had seen what happened between the two in the sequels but it still felt good to see how they got to know each other and experience the "fall in love" phase. It's a good franchise and I'll recommend you see it, starting from this one ofcourse. I'll review the other two and maybe the series after.
