[Movie] "Heaven Is For Real" Review

I just finished seeing this movie and I'm glad it's about time I was going to write a review so I just decided to write on it. Good for me because it's all still fresh in my memory as I can still picture almost every single thing shown in the movie, good for you the reader because this could be that review without much bias, just the good info.

I actually started seeing the "supposed short" movie last night but I felt so sleepy at some point that I couldn't. That may come off as the movie being boring to have made me feel sleepy but honestly, it's far from it. I had a very stressful but somehow, the movie kept me awake until over 60% done with the movie before I felt so sleepy.

So what I am trying to say is, "Heaven Is For Real" is a kind of movie that is far from boring even though by any chance the title and beginning come off as boring. It has a good storyline and surprisingly, it is a biography and based on a book written about the life of Colton, a little boy who visited Heaven. It is an unreal but real story.

"Heaven Is For Real" was released in the year 2014 and starred by Greg Kinnear as Todd Burpo, Kelly Reilly as Sonja, Connor Corum as Colton Burpo. It is a story that explores the life of a 5 to 6 year old Colton, the son to Todd Burpo, a preacher at the church. The family is lovely and growing until Colton falls and goes in for surgery.

As a busy but always loving father, Todd felt devasted that his son may not make it considering all that has been said. While in the surgery room, people pray for Colton, every person who knows him and his father. The surgery was successful and they went back to their normal lives but Colton began to talk weird.

His sister, Cassie calls him weird and his mother thinks he is recollecting all he had been taught since he was a baby but his father, after attempting to understand what his son was saying by logical means, he began to believe that his son actually visited Heaven during his surgery. The world couldn't believe him but his words kept being a wonder to who hears him.

I especially love the baby actor who played Colton, his cute eyes and cheeks made him so loveable that his role came off as very interesting to watch anytime. How he talks about his experience with an innocent look and voice made the story so believable. We always say there's Heaven but then find it hard to believe in stories.

Anyways, I learned something deep seeing this movie, watching the characters ply their roles so well and I'll recommend it to anyone who's interested. It may be all fictional, it still holds some lessons to learn from it and I hope you do.
