[Movie] Movie Review: Jagun Jagun.

This is another wonderful movie by Femi Adebayo; it's an interesting one that revolves around a lot, as I will be sharing in this review of mine.

The storyline is about Ogundiji and Gbotija. Gbotija, as a young man, lost his father to the cold hands of death, and with that, he decided to go all out to take revenge, but then he needed to learn the art of war and know how to fight; that was how he met with Ogundiji, the great and powerful warrior. He began to learn how to fight under the tutelage of Ogundiji. And in no time, Gbotija proves to be different and determined; he outshines and now fights better than even those he met at Ogundiji's place. Very brave, courageous, and strong... All of these made Ogundiji begin to notice him and pay very close attention to him.

When Ogundiji noticed how strong Gbotija was becoming, he started to feel somehow, you know, as a great warlord that he is and that has conquered several kingdoms, he has a huge amount of warriors under him, so seeing how fast Gbotija is growing and becoming, he began to feel jealous. At the end of the day, the battle goes farther than just revenge when Gbotija begins to understand how his father died and who was behind it, and especially when Gbotija begins to get close to and have interest in Ogundiji's daughter.

A very intense and interesting movie, I must confess. A lot of people hyped this movie back then, and because I've been seeing several Nigerian actors and producers doing better, I decided to give it my time, and believe me, I didn't regret sitting down to watch Jagun Jagun.

What I enjoyed most about it aside from the storyline was the production; kudos to the team in charge. They made sure the fight scenes looked so real, the training scenes was superb, the actors did excellently well, the costumes were okay and the make ups were top notch too. I'm super proud of Nollywood and how much they're doing their best to improve in their craft.

That aside, Femi Adebayo acted as Ogundiji, and trust me, no one could have done it better. He played that character with all that he has in him. He's not the type to just appear unnecessarily, and I love how they did it like that; any time he shows up, just be sure that something is about to happen. His character was a terrifying, powerful, and strong one, all of which he displayed well.

Now, let's talk of Gbotija, Lateef Adedimeji acted as Gbotija, when I first saw him, I was a little bit somehow, I know what roles Lateef is very good at, but then he proved me wrong..he showed me he's actually an actor, one of that can act and fill into any character. His goal was to become a great warrior and take revenge for the death of his father, but the moment he came in contact with Ogundiji, things took another turn, and the movie became even more interesting.

Like I said earlier, they did justice to the fight scenes; it looks so real. It doesn't look as if they were even acting, and all the graphics, settings, effects, and all that were used in the movie made it even more real; it's very obvious they spent a huge amount of money on that movie.

One of the issues I have with it, though, is that there are just so many characters; they are too much, not as if some of them were not needed, but then they could have cut down on them. Also, there are some parts I predicted that came out right; I didn't enjoy how they didn't give me the benefit of doubt or just try to tweak things a little.

Even still, the movie is a great one. I love how power drunk Ogundiji became, I love how that we can even say he destroyed himself. Because he got so jealous and power-drunk to the extent that he stopped looking out for and protecting what he already built and was seeking to destroy someone.

The movie has a lot embedded in it, and I would strongly suggest that you watch it; you will thank me, and if you've given it a watch already, I'm sure you will agree with me that it is an interesting one.
