If you read my movie reviews, you will know I am someone who loves fantasy, scifi and super hero movies. Yesterday I talked about sky high, a movie I watched as a child and one of the first super hero movies I watched growing up. But after that post I went to confirm which was the super hero movie I really watched first as a child. I went through my old CD plates and finally remembered I watched Zoom in 2006 after which I watched Sky High. This was in a time when decoders were becoming prominent in Nigeria and my dad decided to get one for us where I was able to watch my first super hero movie on a channel called MAX (if I remember correctly). However I decided to rewatch the movie again, and it was every bit as I remembered it to be when I watched it first as a child.

Before the Avengers, and Before DC came up with The Flash, there was a man called Zoom. He was faster than fast, truer than true and to the end of his speed there was no limit. If you watch it, you will see what I mean. But the movie did not start with the all powerful Jack Shepard otherwise known as Zoom, rather, it started with the ordinary Jack who was called to train the new generation of the zenith team which he was a part of. The zenith team was a military project that used gamma-13 radiation to give their subject powers and that was where Jack got his speed from alongside his brother Conner also known as Concussion and other members of their team. 30 years ago the radiation affected Jack's brother psychologically making him turn against every member of the zenith team then which forced Jack to fight his brother.

In the fight he had to use his speed to create a vortex and then trapped his brother in a dimensional rift. But this drained his powers making him ordinary after the fight. 3o years after when the experiment was reopened Jack was called to teach the new students and soon to be members of the zenith team but then discovered his brother had broken free of the dimensional rift he had placed him 30 years before. Knowing that he was the only one capable of stopping his brother again, Jack needed to find a way to get his powers or risk losing the remaining members of the zenith team. Believe me it was a tug of war and a movie worth watching with family and friends.

I have such fond memories of this movie. It's not the best superhero film I've ever seen, but it's still entertaining.
Good post
