[Movie] THE INCREDIBLE HULK: MOVIE REVIEW

I first watched this movie as a child, and to be honest I could not remember much of the action except the Hulk himself, I have also grown so familiar with the current face of the hulk that I forgot that the person who acted it in 2008 when the avengers had not yet assembled was Edward Norton. If I must be honest, watching it again, I think he would have made a better character moving forward than Mark Ruffalo who ended up replacing him. When I decided to watch every bit of the avengers, I never knew I was going to see something that I now see watching it all in a sequence and that alone is fascinating. It just shows that Marvel planned every bit of the story with the plan of bringing in the avengers and it took them over a decade to tell the story.

The incredible Hulk story was darker than that of Iron man, He was a product of scientific experiment that to him was wrong. The fact that the military wanted to use him as a weapon made Bruce (Edward Norton) run away and stay under the radar for over 5 years. He lost everything including his reputation as a scientist because the military was after him and would do anything to get their hands on their most prized possession. They saw him more of a weapon to be used than a human to be understood and all he wanted to do was shut down the monster. You know before now I didn’t really understand why Bruce hated being the Hulk, but after understanding this movie I finally realized why. He could not allow himself to feel anything because it could trigger the Hulk to come out, even having sex at that point became an issue because he could not allow himself to get too excited. He was powerful, but it looked more like a cause.

Another mission the military had was to make more of him, but I guess they quickly realized that it was hard enough to control one hulk, and giving that power to a soldier would become a two edged sword as it is almost impossible to control the hulk's form. Bruce only had control because of the woman he loved, the other soldier Emil Blonsky who decided to willingly go through the experiment wanted power to control, and when he got that power it was harder for him to control because there was nothing he was so emotionally attracted to (My guess). But then, this just shows us the power of love, even a monster can be good if they can find love, where everyone saw a monster in Bruce, Betty saw the man she loved and that was all he needed to stay in control. This was a real sci-fi and action movie and it is something worth rewatching.

I have to watch this movie—it sounds really interesting, though I have to admit that Mark Ruffalo is the actor who best embodies the Hulk. He's one of my favorite actors.
Great post!
