RE: Sam’s Hangout #119 - “PERCEPTIONS OF SUCCESS ACROSS GENDERS”

It's absolutely true that society places more value on a man's success, and while that doesn't have a good look, it happens due to a combination of factors.

One, many men are still raised and seen as sole providers. So people may wonder, what's the point of a woman achieving a great deal of success when she's not going to be a provider as well?

Two, some women are still very stingy with their income. They've refused to break free from the societal standards that assumes them to only be a help mate. So even they may ask, what's the point of achieving this level of success when there's someone to take care of my needs?

Thirdly, society is just largely misogynistic. So it's expected that whatever women achieve will be deemed far lesser than a man. This is why you find many men misbehaving and leaving nasty comments under the posts of women celebrating great feats! We all need to do better.

Happy weekend, guys.🤗

That's a very good question tbh. It's one of the numerous things that steams the imbalance in acknowledging a man's success and merely glancing at a woman's.

When people think of the fact that men are generally the sole providers in a family, a woman's success then holds little to no value in their view.

I believe this happens because large number of women out there are least concerned with significantly aiding their husbands, despite being in a position to, and that also points to their stinginess.
Of course not all, cause when I look at my mum, I'm looking at the breadwinner of my family. Grins.

And the society??? There surely has to be in shift in the way females are perceived. All these labels as mere help mate, weaker sex, baby-making machines... Though painfully true are equally belittling. It just paves way to all this. And more 😳

Point blank! It's just sad that people don't try to pull the factors behind this particular pattern. But I hope something changes in the future.
