Yes, I’ve Been MIA… But I’m Back (For Real This Time)

Okay. Before anybody drags me, yes, I know I disappeared. Two months, maybe more. Some of you probably thought I fell off the face of Hive, joined a secret cult, or just ghosted humanity entirely. Nope. Life happened. But we’re back.

Honestly… everything happened. Left a job, started a new one, renovated my room (yes, finally turned that chaos into something Instagram-adjacent and I can't wait to show you guys), and realized I apparently have a lot of adulting stamina I didn’t know existed. I’ll unpack all of that… post by post. Tease and reveal style, lol

Before I go further, yoooo, I gotta callout some people, DRAG them in fact (lovingly, of course......cue the fake smile): @kingsleyy @fashtioluwa and whoever else was casually pretending they didn’t notice my radio silence, yes, I see you.

Now, for those curious about why I went MIA (besides life’s chaotic remix): I just needed to pause, reset, and show up for myself in ways that weren’t always visible online. Some of it’s been deeply mundane honestly: paperwork, bills, schedules. Some of it’s been wildly exciting: new job vibes, creative bursts, room glow-ups. All of it, honestly, required me to step away from the scroll for a minute.

But here’s the reflection part (don’t roll your eyes yet, it’s short): remember how, as kids, we couldn’t wait to grow up? We thought being an adult meant freedom, adventure, and zero rules. Reality check: adulthood shows up with responsibilities, deadlines, and a lot of “please prepare for what you can’t yet see.” And now that we’re here, knowing what we know, it feels like maybe the goal isn’t just surviving adulthood, it’s learning how to land softer, prep better and perhaps how to even show up for ourselves before the world decides to show up for us.

So yes, I’m back. Writing daily. Posting what I can. Trying again. Just like I’m trying for Melodhee_nails, my business that I'm trying to relaunch, just like I’m trying for my work, my space, my life. Not perfectly, not dramatically, just consistently, and with a little humor sprinkled in so I don’t take myself too seriously.
