Owanbe Wahala : Dress Was Louder Than Dance Steps

So this owanbe I attended in Oyo State ehn, I still think about it sometimes and just somehow smile to myself, you know how you plan for an event, do all the right preparations, but one or two small drama must just till happen? That was me that day.

So let me first start by saying that my elder sister is my personal fashion designer ,like she is really good at what she does, Like top-notch, Me, I am not someone that knows how to pick styles for my dresses, so I always just leave it to her, because she knows my body and what fits me, and she always comes through when she feels like for me, lol... (That one is story for another day , still another owanbe saga)

So for this wedding, same thing, she took my measurements, and picked a nice style for me and when the dress was ready, it was beautiful, no doubt, but Omo, the moment I wore it and looked at myself in the mirror, I just knew that my chest area was shouting too much , like it was so revealing ,like, my cleavage was really showing and for someone like me who is very conscious of how I do look especially around elders or in-laws, I was instantly so uncomfortable.

The wedding was my in-laws ,and there were alot of my in-laws present , so that just made me feel even more somehow, so i kept adjusting and using my hands to try to cover up small small, I was just praying the whole time that nobody should make any funny comment, or ask me to do tedious work or something

But you know weddings now , before I just could even fully blend into the crowd and mind my business, one of my in-laws just came to tapped me, saying, β€œCome and help us usher the Iyawo in, " Like joke like joke, I became part of the bridal entrance crew, Omo.... she even told me, β€œAh ah, you are looking fine o, This your dress is a banger, Omo me I just smiled and told her thank you, but deep down I was still feeling somehow sha.....

Sha anyway, they played the music and we started dancing in, Omo me that doesn’t even know how to dance properly, I was just doing my best, I was forming confidence, dancing small small and smiling, you know how all eyes will be on you when you are walking in with the bride, Omo, I just dey pray make I no fall down with the heels I was wearing.

After all the dancing and sweating, better hunger started wiring me left and right, I did not even wait too long before I started scanning the place for food. Yeah so I finally located the amala and ewedu stand , because that was what my body truly wanted and the woman dished it well for me with gbegiri and assorted meat, I sat down somewhere and forgot all my shyness and cleavage drama.

Now looking back now, it was a fun day, I still laugh whenever I remember how the dress caught attention and how I danced like say na me win award, but yeah ... it is one of those owanbe memories that stays with you.

You are looking gorgeous. When you thought your dress is some how and someone just compliment it , the confidence that comes after that is second to none. Welldone
