It's actually because he likes you... It's the same concept with animals sometimes.. when they're hard to get close to. If you finally let him get comfortable around you, he could be your best friend in a romantic way

I absolutely understand you my dear friend, but you really should give him or any other guy that behaves that way a chance.
Some guys find it difficult talking to the girls they like or have a crush on. I was like that some years back until I got so many females friends and realized that girls aren't scary😂😂 so I can now talk to girls and socialize too
