I can bet that anyone who has stayed consistent and engaging enough here has quite a lot to say.
I was told about Hive and every possibilities here. Several times, I saw @starstrings01 and some of the Church members he had invited here on Hive talking about something pertaining to Hive, the prompt, another person here, upvote or money. Gifted told me about Hive but I was not interested, it didn't sound like something I would love to do.
Gradually, Gifted and I became friends after a year and he told me about Hive again. This time, I asked more questions as I sat down watching him do his stuff on Hive on his large monitor screen (a view of peakd front-end on the screen was quite attractive). The next, I came back to his place, got my account created and I published my Introductory post.
3 things he laid emphais on were: engaging genuinely on many authors posts as possible every day, publishing quality posts andbeing consistent here. I also got tips on few authors to follow so I can learn from either how well they write, structure their post or get inspired to write too: this was to help me get better and be seem easily.
My journey started well, thanks to the newbie initiative, I got to grow here alongside with other new members. I was never a fan of making new friends easily but the initiative made me adjust and iade some friends. It gave me reasons to come online here because I have people that knows me. Looking forward to reading others post as well was one undeniable feeling I had each time I come online to engage. The initiative meeting on Discord was always fun and educative even beyond Hive at times because of the tutors invited each day.
Staying around here for a long time, reading about certain authors post who have been consistent made me feel like I know this person. Somehow, reading some people's post here back to back made it easier to relate to every of their post.
It can be likened to reading an author's book, you somehow have a sense of who the author is because many tiny parts of them have been written in their posts. People like Bruno, when he was an undergraduate can't do without writing about school at least once a week. Nkemakonam would once a while talk about family or friends. Olujay would talk about his day, his laptop, his phone, new things he found fascinating, tech gadgets, tools or product. I like the perspective from which these guys write from.
You would agree with me that Hive was not so easy to grasp all at once at the very beginning, we literally had to learn about new things every day. Now, we know enough to keep us going for more years to come, if possible. This formed a new perspective for me, that somethings aren't hard, we only need to stick with it for long to get the hang of it. This has given me a valid reason to be consistent in other things I am involved in like graphic design, playing of music (bass guitar) and even school.
Now Hive has become a part of me, though I haven't been consistent due to school activities which I am almost done with. Sharin ideas, thoughts, commenting, making new friends here and still get rewarded is a wonderful. I mean, we used to do that on Facebook and not get a dime. The money I earn from this blockchain has always been helpful to pay a bill or two. Sometimes, get me the junks I need to boost my work each day. Other times it helps me afford data subscription which is quite important for me. Hive is broad, I have learnt more than I assumed I would, met amazing friends here that we chat once a while.
I for one believe there is still more to achieve here in Hive, it's a block chain, deep and wide with many different features and parts. It has so much to be explored and the fact web3 is just getting started makes me want to stick around more to see how much it would have transitioned in the next few years to come.
