Christmas Plans Fell Apart

Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome 🤗

There's this pain that comes with watching your carefully laid plans shattered before your very own eyes.

My Christmas didn't go as planned. Before we entered December, my husband and I had already made a plan on how to spend our Christmas and Boxing Day.

Our plans for the 25th were to go to a particular relaxation place that was about a 30-minute drive away from our city. The plan was to just make a tent there, eat, have fun, and relax. Since we wanted it to be memorable and fun, we decided we were going to invite a family from church to join us if they don't mind.

So instead of cooking, I was going to make small chops, fried pepper chicken, and drinks, preferably fruity zobo.

While for the 26th we planned on taking our kids to the park. A week before Christmas, I was almost done with my preparation. since, to an extent, we usually have stable light. My chicken was already marinated and kept in the freezer. I had made my zobo, bottled them, and kept them also in the freezer.

The Thursday before Christmas, I had fried my chin chin; I also planned on making my samosa and spring rolls the Monday before Christmas to freeze them without frying so that the only thing I was going to do after church service was to fry them and also make puff puff.

I also stay in the same city with my parents; I also made plans to prepare catfish soup with either pounded yam or semovita, depending on my strength that day.

Only for my husband to come back from work on Friday evening and give me one of the most annoying pieces of news that there was a change of plans at his workplace and he was placed on weekend duty on the 25th and 26th and also the weekend after Christmas.

The reason being that they are rumors that federal supervisors were going to go to different branches in different states to supervise some stuff, and because the people that were supposed to be on duty, their houses are a bit far from their workplace, so they selected people that stay close by just in case of an emergency.

At first I was angry, but I later told myself I was not going to let something like that spoil my Christmas. So I made other plans.I didn't go out, but it was a fun-filled Christmas.

On Christmas day, after I came back from church, I prepared and gave some of my neighbors who didn't travel food, drinks, and small chops.

While for my parents I did make the catfish soup because the price of fish was just too much, so I made Edikang ikong soup with semovita for them

While on the 26th I had guests from church; we ate, drank, and talked about a lot of stuff that on a normal day we wouldn't have.

Though my Christmas plans didn't go as I would want them to, either way, I still enjoyed it.

Happy New Year to everyone, wishing you the very best in this year.

🤗 it's the wonderful of Christmas, being with families, friends and sharing love, I think (I watch it in the movies, I'm not a Christian 😊) didn't it go with the says "man propose God dispose"?

Who knows, after all this hectic Christmas and new year festival, there will be a nice long vacation to enjoy the day?
