RE: Sam’s Hangout #126 - “SIMPLY LIVING OR PERFORMING?"

I.

You know, the media has made a lot of things easy. And one of those things is making it easier to show fake, beautiful, and luxurious things. I mean, someone can be struggling financially in reality but online such person maybe dressing and posting expensive things. I'd tell people, the media people only let you see what they want you to see, or what they know you want to see. You see unhappy people in relationships acting all lovey dovey online and you began to compare and have an idea of such a perfect life that didn't exist anywhere. Though the media is playing a great role in it, we can't undermine the role the family, friends and all play in it too. Family expectation on it's own is enough, not to talk of peer pressure and the likes too.

Life is not perfect, there's no perfect life, relationship and all anywhere. The earlier you accept that, the better. It is way better to live a genuine life than living a scripted one for people.

Well, I've felt that before. I wouldn't want to generalize it even though I know a lot of us would have felt that way before too. You know, when you look all around you and you see everyone making progress except you. And even though you're genuinely happy for them and the progress they are making in life, it's still normal for you to look at yours and wonder if you're making any progress at all.

There was a time I actually wanted to do that though, you know, I don't want my mate and all to think I'm still behind in life. But I'm glad I quickly called myself back to attention. I realized living that kind of life is even more expensive 😃. Spending huge amount of money to maintain an Image that I'm not 😏
So, I just live my own life, appreciate my small wins, work towards being a better human and understand that our times are different. You're here today doesn't mean I can't be ahead of you tomorrow. This is life ✌️ so I keep pushing. No need to prove anything to anyone or living to impress anyone 💯

Thank you for your attention to this matter 🫡

Your first point.

Social media has created a very false impression that life is so perfect, and I agree with you, people only show you what they want you to see. And also trend, people follow trend because it gives them money. Even if the person is struggling in reality, he tries to join trend to get the admiration sometimes the money.

During the saga of Regina Daniels failed marriage, she at first made us believe that her husband was a king. People wished for her life, even during their anniversary the husband bought a diamond ring, and said the ring was a symbol of their beautiful love and renewal of their love. Just a month after their anniversary, the saga started. Truly every person, family have their respective problem and yes it won't be nice to wash one's dirty linen in public. Then it is now left for us to understand this, filter as we watch. Take the relevant ones and face reality. Social media and reality are different, because a 10mins video won't show you all that is ongoing in a person's life.
