This is a very deep one, and I just wanted to drop my opinion before the day gets more busier that it is....
Hardwork is good, and believe me luck can as well lift and take a person very far/high in life. But becoming a "billionaire" just form hardwork, huhm. It's possible but it's rare. A lot of people are very hardworking and still not even a thousandnaire.
A lot of things has to come together for one to be one, things like the system, the right connection, timing and such.
So, hardwork alone is not enough.
Also, we live in a world where you see a billionaire leaving in same strret or owning a big mansion in the/his village that houses a lot of poverty stricken(sorry to use) individuals, people who can barely eat once in a day.
A lot of people can't afford food, rent and hospital bills, and some people have it in excess and keep on stocking it up for their unborn generations, when a generation is here in their life time wallowing in poverty. It doesn't seem right to me though.
Its not a bad thing to be a billionaire, I will be one too. But stocking up and hoarding it without trying to help or lift others with it is wrong.

Exactly my brother. Luck can make 100 steps reduce to just 10 steps,hardwork with luck is surely a perfect combo.

That's just the point. Hardwork can't do it all except luck plays its role in the journey to make it a success.

I totally agree with you. It's also the reason why those who they left the wealth for, don't even sustain it.
