Hello everyone, it is truly a pleasure to find myself amidst this vibrant and welcoming community. So I'm to write about myself, not particularly something I fancy but here goes:
Growing up in a family of four, being the third, I was the most reserved out of all.
I grew up used to the thrills of a quiet existence, I found solace in the quiet shadows, preferring the sanctuary of my own thoughts over the bustling cacophony of social interactions, I was afraid to step out of my comfort zone and see a world beyond it. The fabric of my upbringing weaved a tapestry of solitude, where the mere thought of stepping outside my comfort zone evoked a shiver of trepidation within me. Communication was not my forte; But I would say I was reserved when it comes to speaking and associating with people. Speaking up wasn't my strong suit and most people found that to be disgusting, tiring, whatever word you could relate to it.
Each day unfurled like an uncharted map, not knowing what to expect from people as I was emotionally fragile and allowing people to come too close was something I don't really fancy. I found it hard to adjust and move closer to the society as the years went by.
Took a liking to the outdoors scenerys, got captivated by the way every moment looks different: The allure of the great outdoors called to me with its ever-changing views—from the golden hues of dawn to the setting of the sun to the silhouette casted. I was bewildered and fascinated by it and got on my journey to storytelling through the images I took. All my unspoken words where convened through my images.
Choosing the path of a photographer was not without its challenges; the initial steps were marred with self-doubt and the weight of expectations pressing down upon my shoulders. Conversations felt like a battlefield, each encounter a skirmish against my insecurities.. Most times I would find myself in doubts and denial of the things I thought I couldn't do.
I went for a seminar on True Focus and that was an eye opener for me. My self esteem was boosted to twenty times than what it was, it wasn't much but it was what i just needed to kick start my confidence. When a 13-year-old prodigy stood tall amidst seasoned photographers, his audacity and resilience a beacon of inspiration. His words echoed in my mind, a reminder to shield myself against the arrows of judgment and negativity, to march forth with unwavering focus.
People were asking him about how he started, what inspired him, and he responded to their questions without fear in his eyes. He didn't feel small even though he was by far the youngest in the room. Wow!! I kept recalling that interview. There was a particular question the boy was asked that how does he deal with clients who judge him based on his young appearance?
He simply that, "everyone is judged by one thing or the other but not allowing the negative in and keep a cool head to do what you are to do in your own unique way. That's your goal to keep focus despite the negativity.
I Took a job as a freelance photographer who engages in all aspects of photography. Every day challenges me to be more creative, and innovative with every prop, concept and editing skills in my possession. No aspect of the job is easy especially when dealing with my client's needs and trying to meet up with their expectations. Especially in the realm of a baby photography where coaxing a tiny subject to cooperate requires both of gentleness and grace.
Tales of resilience and courage unfolded before my lens, each client a protagonist in their unique narrative, seeking to preserve moments of joy, sorrow, and triumph within the confines of a frame. With each click, I delved deeper into the wellsprings of empathy, seeking to merge their stories with mine,
So here I stand, a soul transformed by the alchemy of light and shadow, a storyteller, ready to embrace the unknown with open arms but Finally good to be able to get myself heard in my own little way.
A word for who ever needs it........
