If 12 more hours were added to the normal 24 hours we already have in a day, to be honest, I feel like I might actually become a bit lazier at first. I wouldn’t even lie — just knowing I have more time could make me relax too much and start postponing the things I’m supposed to do. I might catch myself thinking, “I still have time, I’ll do it later,” and then before I know it, the day is already running out again. That’s just how the human mind works sometimes. The more time we think we have, the more likely we are to waste it.
One thing I know I might end up doing more (and not in a good way) is spending too much time on my phone. I can already picture myself scrolling endlessly on social media, jumping from one app to another, watching random videos, and just wasting precious time. That’s something I already struggle with sometimes, even with the 24 hours I have now — so I can imagine how easy it would be to fall into that trap if the day became longer. That would definitely slow me down and reduce my productivity.
But on the flip side, I wouldn’t just waste all of those extra hours. There are definitely some useful and meaningful things I would love to add to my day if I had the chance. For one, I’d make time to rest more. Most times I’m so busy trying to meet deadlines, run errands, or get things done that I forget to rest properly. With more hours in the day, I could finally sleep better, relax more, and just give my body the break it needs.
Another thing is my morning workouts. Recently, I’ve been doing a lot of push-ups, and I genuinely enjoy them. The only issue is that my mornings always feel rushed. I’m trying to squeeze in exercise, shower, eat, and prepare for the day all at once. If I had more time, I’d definitely incease my mornings a bit more, do my workouts with focus, and maybe even add in new types of exercises to improve my fitness.
Also, with my second semester now done and the holidays approaching, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to use my free time wisely. I’ll be home for about three months, and I really don’t want to just sit around doing nothing. So, one of the productive things I plan to do is start learning a new digital skill — probably coding or graphic designing. I’ve been considering watching YouTube tutorials and taking beginner lessons. If I use the extra hours to focus on that, I could gain something valuable before school resumes.
In the end, while those 12 extra hours could tempt me into wasting time, I honestly believe that with some discipline and the right mindset, I could use them to become even more productive. I think It’s really about finding the right balance between rest, learning, personal growth, and enjoyment. If used wisely, those extra hours could be a big blessing.
