We will be taking a break from our collaborations for a while to celebrate Nigeria at 65 years of age! Happy Independence everyone. This prompt will run for two weeks to give everyone the time and the room to participate and the week after will be used to look into all entries and then announce the winners. In a nutshell, we celebrate for three weeks. Before we move forward, here are our winners (first, second and third placed in respective order):

To celebrate this Independence, we want our fellow Nigerians to showcase. What do we mean by that? You can tell us about your culture. The kind of food you eat, the kind of dressings, age old traditions that still exist and are being upheld to this day.
The celebration is for a day they say, but we have two weeks to do this. You can talk about people you know who have served the country. It could be a relative or just someone in Nigerian history who has been a source of inspiration to you. You can also craft a non-fictional story around the Nigerian Independence illuminating the events that led up to that point or a fictional story surrounding a character during that time period (this one is for all Chimamanda lovers).
You can also focus on Nigerian craft from music to books. You can also highlight major concerns you have concerning the Nigerian systems and include solutions to go about fighting it. The main point is to focus on Nigeria.
If you aren't Nigerian and want to participate in the prompt, you can tell us what you know about Nigeria. Do you have friends? Have/do they inspire(d) you and in what way? Do you like Nigerian art (music, literature, dance, etc)? Share them with us.
NOTE: Please use #nigeriaindependence in your tags. Be as outspoken as possible without being rude or insulting.
The prize pool is a 100 Hive distributed among 3 people. We would make a decision on how it is distributed in two weeks.
Already stipulated some up there but:
Feel free to pop into our Discord Server and say Hi or you can send an email to [email protected].
