This question made me remember a story that I read on X on how a female was buried and reading through it, the shocking part was not even what the husband did..it was how some people who knew this lady privately knew about the whole situation according to the poster, and nothing was said about it because her parents believed that she should endure it, "na her husband" some believed that it was a family affair and they will find a solution to it. Our society today isn't reactive anyone and that is one of the reasons why a lot of happening today. We have chosen to be selectively blind all in the name of "e no concern me, no be my family" a lot of th we things are obviously clear to us what what some will say is that they don't want to overstep. We as a society need to step up because accountability matters enormously and not harsher sentencing. Because when we all stop treating a woman's fear as a private inconvenience and start treating it as a public emergency, because everyy femicide I have read about, and I even read one few days ago about a lady who went to visit his boyfriend and was stabbed to death has been preceded by several periods where a lot of people saw something that was disturbing but refused to speak up and continue their lives instead. When we see something that is not right, unusual, we should always speak up and when a lady says she is afraid, I believe that we should believe her words instantly and not at her funeral. Here's my humble 2cent.

And you're definitely on point.
We all have a role to play in this, and we the make genders need to be taught how to love right. A lot of us see control, isolation and the likes as a way of expressing our love. And the ladies too, they shouldn't her blinded. Speak up when necessary, seek for help and if it's a divorce, my dear go for it.
We all have a role to play for real, but it's funny how most victims don't listen or run away when they see signs and even get warnings from those around and willing to help.
I use to have a lodge mate in school that was willing to do anything for a boyfriend that beats her, we all tried to warn her but she was too stubborn and attached to a man that abused her always.
I just hope more ladies learn to leave and also stay safe out there, crazy things are happening...
What you just said here....I think there is something behind that in a way that some ladies enjoy to stay in a relationship like that than to opt out for a peaceful one. Because, tell me, how will you allow someone to be abusing you and you will still stay. I can't just wrap my head around it....

Femicide can be put to an end but it requires not just family support but the society in whole.
I agree with your point my brother. On many occasions, alarms and concerns are being ignored until it's too late. When someone says they feel afraid, we should not ignore their words. Speaking up when we notice something unusual and supporting those who ask for help can make a real difference.
Those in love rarely listens, it's possible people talk to this victims and they ignore. In cases like this, a fatal punishment would bring caution to many, and if certain norms on the female gender can be address, we'll have more gentlemen who doesn't become dictators and manipulators
It's quite sad that people are being encouraged to voice out their fears and challenges but yet , in situations like this when someone eventually does, nothing is done about it. And when death comes knocking, you'll hear some people uttering words like, "she told me ooo" 😒.
All hands sure have to be on deck, not just the relatives or closest friends of the female involved. The media itself could press for justice in such cases rather than simply making skits out of it.
