Career: Chosen by or Chosen for

When it comes to a child’s career, Parents indubitably have an important role to play, however, that roles does not include Stare Decisis.

The role of a parent in deciding their child’s future career is quite immense, they are the pinnacle of the child's development and are the bedrock of their growth and development, they serve as guides before and after careers are Chosen.

Children on the other hand are heavily influenced by their parents, both covertly and overtly, most children tend to follow in the footsteps of their parents after all there is a saying that goes “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” . Children chow down on the attitudes and views expressed by parents and make them theirs.

Career paths are mostly decided during early life, the decisions children make then matter a lot, if these decisions are clouded and heavily controlled by parental preference, the child may end up on a path he/she has no passion for, however, If left unattended to , that child may make poor choices for themselves.

Personally, I think parents should study their children intensively and use the information gathered to decipher areas of life they are capable of flourishing in, a child who like dismantling and fixing things should not be flung to the world of music, unless of course, he/she also possesses that skill.

Parents should aid their children’s decisions and not be the ones to totally determine them, they should give children enough time to unravel their skills and discover their hidden talents, they should serve as an ideal moral compass for their children and most importantly, Parents should understand that their actions and words have big effects on their children
