My grandma is very deliberate about this , growing up she sweeps the compound so clean, picks around because she knows I and my siblings will play out there after school and doesn't want anyone to get injured.
The society needs more people like you, I do this when I see one, but I don't pay full attention to it.

I dig your style. I learnt that act from my mum ,when you walk with her, you will be tired of stop and pick .
She stops intermittently to take pit stuffs she think might be a safety challenge to others.
