Staying the Course: How I Stay Motivated When Life Gets Tough

When you feel like giving up or you're unmotivated to continue, what keeps you going? Or who?

With the current economic situation around, it is so easy for one to give up on their goals and aspirations, and in truth, a lot of people get carried away by the hustle and bustle here and there making them forget their true aspirations and goals.

It is pretty easy to give up on some of our goals and aspirations especially when things are not going in their favor but the truth is if you must win in the race of life then giving up isn't an option

Lack of motivation can be the consequence of not getting desired results when we set out to do things, but in my opinion, when the results you want aren't forthcoming, it means there's something that isn't right in the process.

Some of the ways by which I keep myself in check and make sure I keep going are by associating with those who have done the things I want to do, and sometimes this association may not even be physical; sometimes I interact with their materials on YouTube and through written books. By doing this, I can ensure that I don't make the mistakes they made.

Another way is by having people of like mind who share the same struggles, visions, and passion. This way, it is easy to communicate your struggles with them and draw some inspiration from them as well because when you have friends who are like-minded, then you can share your struggles with them so that you can learn and grow together.

In our generation today, the subject of mentorship has been overlooked a lot, so we have a lot of people who are struggling to attain certain highs, and it seems like a mirage. Having a mentor in my life makes me accountable and not want to give up because if I give up, I would have let my mentors down and also let myself down, and one thing about mentorship is that you can be sure of proper guidance, and when this happens, mistakes are minimized.

Fear is another reason why people can be unmotivated, and my definition of fear is "false evidence appearing real." Sometimes the things we fear the most never happen, but the fear keeps us from taking steps and conquering this fear. I dare to do whatever my hands find with confidence, and this confidence is developed by constantly taking action to do these things I ought to do and trying to get knowledge in the things I ought to do.

The joy that comes with accomplishment is something that always drives me; when I feel like giving up, I remember that quitters never win and winners never quit.

Thank you for stopping by.
