I just saw this same question while scrolling online.
My take on this; I don't think it's totally wrong using your kids for content, it all depends on why and how they do it.
I know a number of content creators that basically post about moments with their family (kids), this things they post most times can be meaningful.
But I think where I have a problem with this is when parents post those embarrassing and vulnerable moments of these kids, some go as far as putting there weaknesses out there, knowing fully well that the kids have no say, I see the ones that do this like they're just using them as a source of income, and you know there's a thing about social media it "doesn't forget" the child will definitely grow up to see this and this can cause "dwindling mental health".
For me using kids for content isn't bad at all, in as much as parents protect this kids from embarrassment, doing it responsibly by not sharing vital information that has to do with privacy and safety, like school, route to school, home address and others. Yess...
All they should do is to prioritize the safety and comfort of these kids over the engagement and money involved.
Nigerians are known for abuse of things, the way they are obsessed with the monitization money makes Dem lose their focus of the well-being of their children
That's where most of them get it wrong, you don't forget that these kids will grow to see the abuse you subjected them to and only focus on monetisation. I just wish they can do whatever responsibly.

Oh yes it's not totally wrong. Children on camera in the name of content creation can be seen in two categories of purpose.
Some are clearly being put out there by the parents all for the money and probably fame and this usually comes along with a good number of bad sides for the children.
But like you stated, I also value those of family moments and growth, without letting out too much about the child's life to the knowledge of the public.
