Sometime in 2018, I was still teaching and had a lot of extra lessons to support myself financially. I was doing 4 lessons then, and I have the habit of calculating my earnings to know what to expect in 1 month, 6 months, and a year... Calculations like this motivate me to put more effort into my work so that I can achieve my target.
I was earning 3k, 10k, 6k, and 5k, respectively, in the 4 home lessons I was taking. A few weeks after I calculated my earnings, I lost 2 out of those lessons, which were the ones of 6k and 5k. This pained me because I have a lot of plans for the money, but there was nothing I could do; I kept on doing the other two, and suddenly the parent paying me 10k lost a lot of his money while campaigning for the seat of chairman in his LGA, and he could not pay me as before, he explained to me the reason for the delayed payment, i empathized with them and told them not to worry that I will keep on teaching and they can pay me when the husband find his balance.
When we are praying for ourselves, we should also pray for our bosses and other people helping us. If anything bad happens to them, it will affect us too because they won't be able to help or pay us anymore.

Look/grab new opportunities: When I lost those jobs, I did not mourn the setback for long, and at that time, I already found Hive, but I only post like 2 to 3 times in a week because there was no time, so the moment I lost those jobs, I had ample time to pursue my hive journey, so sometimes some disappointment is a blessing in disguise
Cut off the leeches: Some people come into our lives to just collect, they have no intention of giving back, the worst part is they don't see what you are doing for them as a big deal, when things become hard, it is necessary to cut ties with these kind of people because if you do not, they will end up taking the little with you and leave when they drain you, so cutting them off is necessary so you can manage the resources you have until you are balance again.
Last but not least, do not let the problem you are facing to put you down, shake it off, talk to friends and loved ones and stay happy, when you are in a good state of mind, better ideas will flash your mind and you would be able to work on those idea to bounce back... Failure is not the end of a man.

Failure is definitely not the end of a man, it's a stepping stone to greatness. When we fail we automatically learn better and become a master of it. I don't see failure as a disadvantage but a movement towards greatness. Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece
This is an interesting insight that I really don't anticipate much on, i.e also praying for those helping us. It shows how interconnected and interdependent we all are even when we like to think otherwise.
I also have the habit of calculating my earnings in advance to know how much I would be expecting at the end of the month, I do this on Hive, too. But sometimes, our plans fail but most of them come as a blessing in disguise.
Many people do not understand how important it is to pray for their bosses when working under them because if anything should happen to them, it will affect them, also.
Yeah, wishing our bosses well and praying for them is very important because their downfall is automatically our downfall, too.

I’m sure that man will never forget what you did. You had your financial difficulties but you still chose to teach the boy despite knowing that his dad is having financial issues and won’t be able to pay you up

I agree with you, the man did not later pay me the money, I worked for him for more than a year and he only paid few times, he is still owing me 100k Naira, At a point I started to wonder if the person I am pitying pitied me too, because few months after the crisis, he started taking his children to shopping mall again to get stuff, so why is my payment being delayed, after it got to 100k, I realized I have done my best and it is time to move on...Till now they did not pay it, but God has rewarded me... No good deed indeed goes unrewarded.

Indeed. We need to pray for our bosses also because they are giving money to us and we are dependent on the money. Their financial matter can affect us directly. I think uncertainty in case of finance comes sometimes and we need to find the way to adapt with the situation.

It is exactly like this, a man's real life begins only after failure and then he starts working hard from the beginning again and then one day he succeeds in this world and the whole world sees it.
There is profound message for me about calculating future income, I do that all the time, and it's hard when everything falls apart, the same thing happened to me when I lost my weekend job a while back, which paid my car payments and some other bills. What struck me was that you don't just say to be positive and everything will be fine, but you give steps to follow like looking for other ways to make money and getting rid of those people who only know how to take and never give anything back. I also guess if my boss does well we'll probably do well too. Creating different ways to make money, like you did with Hive and also teaching classes is a very smart idea in these crazy times when jobs come and go so quickly, I wish my Hive account grows eventually as I become more active and learn how to navigate the ecosystem. Your story shows that recovery isn't just about having a good attitude but about doing something about it instead of just complaining and not looking for ways to get everything back on track.
One thing I have learned about life is that we must not settle for one source of income and should always be ready for the unexpected, like losing a job or investment. I believe more opportunities will come knocking at your door as long as you don't give up and keep seeking for more source of income... the same applies to hive, as long as you do not give up and you are dedicated, you will thrive.
